About Stakepoint
What this is, and how it works.
Stakepoint is an in-play sportsbook. It follows fixtures that are under way, prices the markets on them in real time, takes bets against those prices and settles them from the result as soon as the fixture is over.
That is the whole product. There is no casino, no video streaming and no cash-out. Everything on the site is a market, a bet on one, or the record of one.
The board is a live feed. Prices move while you are looking at them — a shot, a card, a break of serve, and the numbers change within the second. What you see on a button is what the feed said a moment ago, and it can be out of date by the time you click it.
So the price on your slip is not the price we take the bet at. Every leg is re-read from the feed, on our server, at the moment the bet arrives. The number the slip sent up is used for exactly one thing: deciding whether the price has moved.
- Moved in your favour — the bet is accepted, at our better price, not yours.
- Moved against you — the bet is refused, and you are shown the price it really is. You take it or you do not; nothing is staked until you say so again.
- Suspended, or no longer priced — the bet is refused outright.
The consequence worth stating plainly: your slip cannot tell us what the odds are, and it cannot tell us what the bet is either. The market name, the selection name and the price are all read off the feed server-side. A slip that claimed otherwise would be settled on what it actually backed.
Settlement is automatic wherever the result is unambiguous. While a fixture you have money on is running, we record its score on every pass of the feed — because a finished fixture drops out of the feed and takes its score with it. The last score written before it vanished is the full-time result, and that is what your bet is settled from.
A resolver that is not certain does not guess. It abstains, and the bet goes to a person to settle by hand, with the recorded score in front of them. An unfamiliar market costs somebody a few minutes; a resolver that guessed would pay the wrong punter and take money off the right one. We would rather be slow than wrong.
Every settlement — by the engine or by a person — is written down with what it was decided from. If you disagree with one, that record is what we will look at with you.
Your balance is credit on this platform. An administrator issues it; there is no cashier, no deposits and no withdrawals. The help page is blunt about what that means in practice.
Your statement is append-only. Nothing is ever edited or removed from it — a correction is a new, opposite entry that sits next to the original. Every figure is a whole number of cents; nothing on this platform does arithmetic on a decimal fraction, because a ledger that does not add up is not a ledger.
